History

Our practice has been an integral part of downtown New Haven for over 75 years! Throughout that time we have maintained a tradition of excellence in eye care with the simple philosophy of treating others as we would like to be treated. In 1999 Dr. Philip M. Perrino became the owner and chief optometrist of the practice. Under his leadership the practice was transformed from one focused primarily on glasses and contacts to one with a commitment to ongoing skill and education in the diagnosis and management of eye disorders. We have also added several excellent associate optometrists while maintaining a full optical staff and eyeglass dispensary. We love what we do, the services we provide and especially the relationships that we’ve formed over the years.

It is our hope that you share these values and become part of our family.

Office Inside

Technology

The ongoing growth in technology has profoundly affected how we approach your eye care. Remaining up to date with the latest technologies is an important part of providing you with the best care possible.

One of our latest editions and especially popular with patients! This provides stunning high detail images of the back of the eye (retina) and can replace dilation.

A test which uses your tear film to identify inflammation that triggers dry eye.

Similar to an MRI but specialized for the eye and useful for a number of disorders: glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and more.

State of the art perimeter which evaluates peripheral vision for glaucoma and other neurological diseases.

Especially high resolution central retinal photography

Used to help determine the shape of the eye as well as estimate the prescription needed for glasses and contact lenses.

One of the latest and most significant advances in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and found in relatively few practices. It indicates the risk of developing glaucoma before any damage has been done and helps guide treatment as well.
